I never been the sporty kind but yet I feel that I can now say I do Sport, physical Sport… yet I m still only doing YOGA !!
I have experimented many yoga classes…. never liked those very large, factory style Yoga school where performance and competition drives the participants. For me Yoga is not a mean to perform and compare ourselves to others… Not a way to shape our body to the model society thinks it should be. In fact YOGA is and should be the opposite, a way to calm our mind, balance our mood and find peace… It allows us to know our strength and weaknesses, cherish our inner self, accept and love our body so to blossom as a unique being and find happiness !!
So I was after a place that’s a cocoon of well being, a place where you smell incense in a lowlight room and a calming voice…
And then I came across HOT YOGA , met with Naomie and got myself enrolled into the 10days trying programme.
Ten days during which you can do as many classes as you souhaitez can and experiment the power of Yoga bikram !!!
Intensive sessions is what you need in order to fully appreciate the benefit of this practice. After a week of practice (1 course every two days, cause I could not do it daily!! ) you can start to notice the amazing effects and progress you are making already.
My first course was physically difficult, 26 poses carried out at a fast pace in a room heated at 40degrees, I first thought they were completely crazy !!! I had an eye on the watch thinking when is this gonna end? I had no idea I could sweet that much … yet I went back again, and again, and again…
It’s been a year now and I cannot tell the benefits I observed.
Yoga bikram is a 90min ( 60 min for the Hot Yoga) course combining Hatha yoga dynamic postures ( Asanas) and breathing exercices (Pranayama). The sequences have been conceived to work systematically and gradually all the muscles, tendons, joints, ligaments, organs and glands. This way, blood carries oxygen to all the body cells.
This series is unique because it is a sequence of postures, stretches and compressions that massages all the internal organs, strengthens the cardiovascular system and stimulates the endocrine and nervous system and thus, Hormones and enzymes.
The sequence of 26 postures was scientifically designed to systematically and gradually work every muscle, tendon, joint, ligament, organ and gland. Moving fresh oxygenated blood to every cell of the body.
This series is unique as it is the sequence of the stretching and compression postures that massage all internal organs, flushing out the cardiovascular system and stimulating the endocrine and nervous systems (thereby releasing and deficient hormones and enzymes).
The postures are practiced in the safe environment of a heated room of 40c degrees. This increases muscle relation and blood circulation thereby minimizing the risk of injury. Thereby strengthening the cardiovascular system and flushes toxins from the body through sweat.
The result is a vast improvement of health, reducing stress, strengthening the immune system helping to heal injuries. Regular practice can reduce many symptoms of chronic ailments and diseases, including high and low blood pressure, back and joint problems, diabetes, asthma, sleep disorders, digestive problems, skin conditions and others.
After completing a Bikram class you will feel rejuvenated and energized. Bikram yoga builds strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance, ultimately promoting a health, lean body inside and out. At the same, it has positive effects on mental well being, making you more productive, focused and balanced thereby resulting in an eventual union of the body, mind and spirit.
And indeed, I can only approve that. After even a 1 hour course (Hot Yoga), I felt like I had a good grip on life, as if life was a part of me, as if i was sitting up in the sky, looking at life with confidence, faith and loving kindness !! I had gathered the energy to get things done with pleasure and determination if needed or a profond soothing when I had finish my day…
The other great thing with the place is that their is at least a course a day that you can book up to 1 hour prior…. A reel flexibility, a big plus for me that has a no routine life !!!
I also like the welcoming atmosphere of this place, mixing all sexes, ages, nationalities and levels !!

I would recommend the trial offer as a great way to fully experiment and appreciate this YOGA practice. Also, on friday’s evening, from 18h00 to 19h30, you can assist to the YOGA bikram with café del mar. A magical moment combining yoga and music to end the week and prepare for the week-end !!
